Clean Coal Technologies....Carbon Capture and Storage (CSS) where billions of tonnes of CO2 will be pumped underground. But it wont be ready on any major scale till 2030...and how much energy will it take? UN study says that fircing coal industry to adopt CSS adds 40-90% to costs. Chief Exec at Drax says: "it is quite a challenge to say its going to be economically attarctive, and feasible, and viable".

CSS could help an industry in the autmn of its years, but to use it to justifya hair raising level of expansion beggars belief..esp when most of US expansion is CCS incompatible.You cannot get people to fret about their carbonfootprint when this is stomping all over the world...the future cant be green and black..

(Think reason for UK CO2 emission increase in 2006 due to reduced gas, back to coal....)
