Offsetting - Indirect

Task 1: Find out what and where offset projects are being undertaken.

Contact Scope 3 organisations within your operational boundries
Request information on offset projects they are involved with.

Task 2: Work out what equity share you may have in Scope 3 offsets

When you counted your carbon footprint you added proportionate figures from Scope 3 organisations relative to work carried out for your organisation. eg if outsource company provides 20% of their total production to your organisation your carbon counting should have reflected this percentage.

Likewise you have the same equity share of any offset projects they are involved with. This contributes towards your targets.

Task 3: Calculate your share

Calculate your share of any relevant offset projects.
Work out what contribution this makes to your target.
Write a note expalining the methodology you have used to arrive at this figure.
