Reduce emissions - direct

The best place to start thinking what to DO is to start with your energy consumption causing direct emissions.
These are the emissions you identified in Scope1 then measured, counted and assessed to idenetify those of greatest concern.

Task 1 Using the inventory you developed earlier:

Examine your energy use in this order:

1. Eliminate unnecessary use

2. Reduce / Re-engineer and/or improve efficiency
(
News of energy efficient goods)

3. Control use eg temperature/time etc

4. Look at Alternative Energy Issues - low or zero carbon options:

  • combined heat and power
  • low carbon fuels
  • renewable energy
  • nuclear
